It's not normally a night for bold fashion statements.
But Jordin Sparks sexed things up as she arrived at the sedate Songwriters Hall of Fame 44th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in New York City donning a curve-hugging frock.
The 23-year-old songstress certainly stole the show on the evening, which saw Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry honoured for their songwriting abilities.

Peek-a-boo holes at the top were playful yet respectful in her otherwise covered-up number.
The No Air singer carried a dainty patent leather handbag that complemented both her dress and her white pumps.

Though Jordin has reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for hits such as Tattoo, No Air and Battlefield, she just hit the top for her writing skills.

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, it just reached number nine on the charts.
Jordin was in good company at the Songwriters Hall of Fame event, as Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger and Natalie Cole were also in attendance.

Bernie Taupin were honored for their catalogue of smash hits.
Meanwhile Aerosmith stars Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were recognised for classic tunes such as Dream On and Walk This Way.

The young man of the show was 25-year-old pop Benny who was given the Hal David award for young writers, who was mentored by hitmaker Dr. Luke due to his impressive bedroom compositions..
Foreigner axeman Mick Jones, who was inducted along with the band's singer and co-founder Lou worked as a hired gun, penning Francophone pop hits in Paris for a spell, then recording for Peter Frampton and George Harrison, before his own success after forming the rock outfit in 1976.
