Champions League: Sevilla Vs Bayern Munich: Match Details
Vincenzo Montella’s Sevilla will on Tuesday night clash with Bayern
Munich at home in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter final
match.
Montella’s men have won their last three home games against German clubs
without conceding a goal.
Sevilla, who are currently in sixth position in the La Liga, played 2-2
against Barcelona in the Spanish topflight league on home turf at the weekend.
Montella’s side are experienced European campaigners, having won the UEFA
Europa League for three successive years between 2014 and 2016 and knocked out
Manchester United in the Champions League round of 16.
Defender, Sébastien Corchia is suffering from a groin injury.
Midfielder, Éver Banega is suspended.
Meanwhile, Jupp Heynckes’s Bayern Munich heads into Tuesday’s Champions
League clash against Sevilla on form after hammering domestic rivals, Borussia
Dortmund 6-0 in Der Klassiker at the weekend with James and Lewandowski having
a hand in all six goals.
Heynckes’s men saw off Besiktas 8-1 on aggregate in the last round of the
Champions League.
Heynckes has reached the final of this competition every season he has
coached the Bayern, in (1998, 2012, 2013).
The match against Sevilla will be Bayern’s 17th quarter-final, more than
any other club in Europe.
Goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer and star player, Arturo Vidal, who missed the match
against Dortmund due to injury may start from the bench.
Kingsley Coman is having an ankle injury, while Bernat is having a joint
capsule tear.

Rico – Mercado, Kjaer, Lenglet, Escudero (c) – N’Zonzi, Pizarro – Navas,
Vazquez, Correa – Muriel
Bayern Munich potential starting XI:
Ulreich – Kimmich, Hummels, Boateng, Alaba – Martinez, Vidal – Müller
(c), James, Ribery – Lewandowski.
