Kano Emerate: Junaid Mohammed states position on Ganduje’s creation of new emirates

 

Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, says Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, did the right thing by approving the splitting of the state Emirate.

According to him, the development was in response to the age-long desire of majority of the people of Kano.

“If the governor does not create Emirates, who will do so,” he quipped in a chat with Vanguard.

“Governor Ganduje is simply responding to the age-long and popular demand of the people of the state.

“He should be applauded for this bold and courageous action, which has been widely accepted by the broad spectrum of our people.

“Ganduje has not breached any known law by his action”, he added.

The appointment of the new emirs – Aminu Ado-Bayero (Bichi); Tafida Ila (Rano); Ibrahim Abdulkadir (Gaya) and Ibrahim Abubakar ll (Karaye) – means the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi now controls only 10 local government councils of the 44 in the state.

All Emirs would have equal powers and are to be on same first class status as Sanusi.

A Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed, has said that Nigerians will regret it if they vote President Muhammadu Buhari into office again.

President Buhari declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019 yesterday. 

Mohammed said it was left for Nigerians whether Buhari will get another term or not.

Speaking with Vanguard, Mohammed said, “I believe nobody should be surprised about Buhari’s declaration.

“Why? Because Buhari is a kind of man that cares less about Nigerians and wants to hold on to power as long as he can.

“It is now left for Nigerians to decide whether he stays on or not.

“What I can boldly say is that if Buhari wins another term in office, there will not be end to corruption, insurgency, and insecurity.

“His loyalists and cronies will continue to milk the country.”

Boko Haram: Lawmakers Slam Buhari Over Financial Negotiation With Boko Haram

Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s amnesty offer to Boko Haram.

Mohammed said the move will not solve the problems of insurgency.

“I don’t believe the amnesty will stop anything because so far so good, we do not know how far the negotiations between the Federal Government and Boko Haram has gone”, he told Vanguard.

“Also, we do not know whether it is an honest negotiation that is ongoing or the one based on commercial purposes.

“If negotiations are ongoing and we do not know how far they have gone but we are hearing money is exchanging hands, then it is simply blackmail.

“I can say that at the end of the day, we will realize that FG had not been interfacing with the real leaders of Boko Haram and all the negotiations have been based on commercial purposes,” he added.

A Yoruba leader, Sen. Femi Okurounmu also condemned the decision.

He said: “The amnesty move is to call for Jihad and I can say that the herdsmen menace ravaging the country is not different from Boko Haram. Why should they give amnesty to terrorists?

2019: Junaid Reacts To PDP Apology, Says Its Suicidal For Nigerians To Believe Them

A Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed has given reasons Nigerians should not listen to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s apology.

The PDP had during the week, through its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, apologised to people of the country for failing them during their sixteen years of reign.

But reacting in an interview with Vanguard, Mohammed said it would be suicidal for Nigerians to believe or give the PDP audience.

“Frankly speaking, this statement coming from the PDP simply made us believe leaders of the party realised they are capable of making mistake and calling on Nigerians to forgive them.

“I believe their statement is hypocritical because they are not being sincere.

“Nigerians should not listen to them because we all knew how people like Obasanjo imposed a sick Yar’Adua on this country, even after his death, we all remember how he brought Jonathan into government and we all knew how the government ended in a monumental tragedy and till date, Nigeria is yet to come out fully from those experiences.

“So, nobody should give PDP any audience because giving them audience will be another disaster and suicidal,” he said.

Junaid Mohammed Gives Buhari Platinum Award On Corruption, Says He Perfected Corruption

Second Republic lawmaker and prominent northern politician, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has said “President Muhammadu Buhari and his people have perfected corruption more than any previous administrations,”claiming that the President deserves a platinum award for corruption.

While alleging that the ongoing fight against corruption is designed to fill the pockets of the President’s relatives and friends, he stated that those who are related to Buhari have become billionaires overnight.

Speaking in an interview with ThisDay, the Russian-trained doctor wondered the award which national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, would now give Buhari having sarcasticly honoured former president Goodluck Jonathan with a gold medal for corruption.

Junaid said, “Buhari has ruined the national economy; he has messed up the national security; he has lied through his teeth about integrity by promoting and supporting people who have no gravitas –those who’re related to him that have become billionaires overnight. On what basis did they become overnight billionaires? Simple: on the basis that they are related to him. Buhari cannot win a free and fair election in 2019. I challenge Buhari to tell me one thing he has done for this country. If he got re-elected, it might be because of tribal sentiments or geopolitical sentiments”.

“Talking about the gold medal award for corruption to Jonathan, I think he richly deserved that. It is nothing but sarcasm and of course, Tinubu has a tremendous sense of humour. So, if he sarcastically gave gold medal to Jonathan, I don’t know what he’ll be willing to give Buhari… because Buhari and his people have perfected corruption more than any previous administrations in the country. I will award Buhari platinum (in corruption) because it is higher than gold. I’ll offer him platinum,” he asserted.
