21-year-old man, Umar Audu, has been arrested by men of the Niger state police command for allegedly killing one Abubakar Mohammadu of the Fulani Camp, Wawa village in New-Bussa, Borgu Local Government Area of the state, for making advances at his wife, Hassan Audu.

According to police sources, trouble started when Audu's wife, Hassan, complained to him that Mohammed who is a neighbor and resides in their compound, was asking her to have sex with him despite the fact that he knows she is married. Audu confronted Mohammed and warned him several times to leave his wife alone.

Things came to a halt recently when Audu attacked Mohammed with a matchete, inflicting deep cuts on his head which led to his death.

When interrogated, Audu says he doesn't regret killing Mohammed.

“I don’t regret killing him because Mohammadu decided to die like a chicken. In his next life, he will not make advances to married women. I am ready to bear the consequences. Let the law take its course. I am fulfilled that Mohammadu will never see my wife again, Allah will judge him.” Audu said

Audu is currently in police custody and will be charged to court soon.

30 year Nasiru Musa, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Niger state police command for allegedly strangling his seven months old daughter on May 20th.

According to reports, Musa had taken the baby from the mother while she was sleeping to an uncompleted building where he strangled her. His evil deed was discovered when the mother of the baby woke up and could not find her child by her side. She raised an alarm and the matter was reported to the Nasko police division.

After much investigation, the police arrested Musa who confessed to killing his own child. According to him, he was hypnotized into killing her because he doesn't understand why he would kill his flesh and blood.

“I gave birth to my daughter out of wedlock and the mother and I are preparing for our wedding before this happened. I cannot explain why I took her life. People will not believe me. It is like somebody hypnotised me. I find it very difficult to explain. How am I going to explain to my fiancĂ© what transpired? I know that is the end of (preparations for) the marriage. She will never forgive me and my friends will desert me.” he said.

He denied allegations of planning to use his baby for rituals.

“God forbid. Magama people don’t use their children for rituals and that is why I cannot explain how I killed my own daughter.”

The police say he will be charged to court soon.

Ex- Niger State Gov., Aliyu Challenges His Inclusion In The Looters List, Says FG Is After Me Because I Refuse To Join APC

Ex- Niger State Gov., Aliyu Challenges His Inclusion In The Looters List, Says FG Is After Me Because I Refuse To Join APC
Former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu has said he did not loot the state treasury during his eight year tenure in the state.
He said this in reaction to the looters’ list released by the Federal Government.
Aliyu in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, threatened to challenge his inclusion on the list to a logical conclusion after consultations with his lawyers.
He said “I wonder why the federal government should include my name in the 24 treasury looters list released again by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.’’
The former governor explained that nobody had confronted him with any document that he received N1.6 billion from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and urged the government to prove it.
He alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was doing everything possible to blackmail him because he refused to join the party.
“The APC government has embarked on calculated blackmail against my person because I refused to join the party.
“We all have our minds and what we believe in politics is a thing of the mind.
“In the orchestrated plot to tarnish my image, I am presently before the Federal High Court and a Niger High Court for the same alleged offence.
“This is to show that the government is hell bent on bringing me down but they will not succeed,’’ he said.
Aliyu said that as a governor, he served the people of Niger to the best of his ability.
“As a Governor, I left a landmark for posterity, no amount of blackmail or character assassination can wipe me out from the minds of the people,’’ he stated.
