The social media is agog with arguments after Georgia/Ohio's heartbeat bill and Alabama's anti-abortion bill

The social media is agog with auguments after Georgia/Ohio's heartbeat bill and Alabama's anti-abortion bill
There has been massive outrage after the Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on Tuesday signed into law a “heartbeat” bill, banning abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy. There has also been massive support from some quarters too.

Georgia isn't the only state implementing the "heartbeat" bill. Ohio has also implemented the heartbeat bill and the Alabama governor signed into law a near-total abortion ban that could punish doctors who perform abortions with life in prison.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey on Wednesday signed the controversial abortion bill, saying, "Today, I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act, a bill that was approved by overwhelming majorities in both chambers of the Legislature. To the bill's many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians' deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God."

While some people, especially people who identify as prolife, are in support of the anti-abortion laws, others have slammed it as restricting women's rights to their reproductive health.

Those arguing in support of the bill say life begins from conception and should be preserved.

But those against have said that a woman should be able to abort her child rather than bring the child to the world only to abuse and kill the child. They gave examples using the increasing number of kids on the streets and in foster care. They also mentioned kids killed by their parents. They went on to point out that the same law makers forcing parents to have kids they don't want will not donate a kobo to take care of those kids when they are born.

Others arguing against the bill mentioned that if it is detected that a child in the womb has a congenital disease or a disability, the parents should be allowed to abort the child rather than bring them to the world to suffer. They also pointed out that a woman who has an ectopic pregnancy should be allowed to abort her child rather than die during pregnancy.

The most prominent argument against the bill is that women who are victims of rape and incest shouldn't be forced to bring the kids into the world because those parents will most likely hate the kids and the kids could be scared for life, knowing their history.

Others said the lawmakers making these rules do not actually care for women, children, or religion but simply want a means to control women and their sexuality.

The argument has been heated on Twitter and a great number of celebrities have lent their voice to the argument, including Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and more.

Below are just a few tweets from Nigerians who have joined people from other parts of the world to talk about the bill.

Nigerian Civil War: What US, Other World Power Planned On Doing To Help Biafra

BREAKING NEWS
Nigerian Civil War: What US, Other World Power Planned On Doing To Help Biafra

A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mathew Mbu, has made a new exposition into the Nigeria Civil War.
The former Minister said United States of America and other world powers were planning to change the history of the war by eventually backing Biafra.
Mbu said had the civil war lasted longer, America would have intervened and come on Biafra’s aide.
According to him, the World Powers had great sympathy for Biafra but preferred the option of exploring a more flexible federation for Nigeria.
He said this in an autobiography the he left behind to be published by his family.
The book entitled “Dignity in Service,” is due for public presentation on Tuesday next week at the Yar’Adua International Conference Centre, Abuja.
He wrote, “The regions should have a little bit of autonomy; that was the issue throughout those 30 terrible months of the civil war.
“The first Biafran cabinet meeting was held and articulated in Enugu by our head of government, Col. Ojukwu, and after subsequent meetings in Umuahia and Owerri, he summoned leaders of thought and took a resolution.
“The United States and other major powers had great sympathy for Biafra.
“One fear that haunted other African nations was that if Biafra breaks they would also break up.
“Their enormous sympathy for Biafra notwithstanding, they preferred the option of exploring a more flexible federation for Nigeria.
“Had the war lasted longer, there would have been a major intervention that would have changed the history of the civil war by the major powers. It was good it ended when it did.
“The suffering as being portrayed outside, the suffering of children on humanitarian ground was too compelling to ignore.”

They split over a year ago and both have since moved on with new partners.

But Mariah Carey is still holding onto a very sparkly piece of her relationship with former fiance James Packer.

On Saturday the diva proudly flaunted a $500,000 diamond choker, gifted to her by her billionaire ex in 2015, as she partied with her toyboy beau Bryan Tanaka and Jamie Foxx at Floyd Mayweather's birthday party in LA.

Mariah, 47, was joined by her dancer boyfriend Bryan, 34, - and a long list of celebrity peers - to party at the former boxer's lavish birthday bash, held inside LA's The Reserve nightclub.

The singer was seen arriving with her beau and laughing and joking with actor Jamie at their table, before birthday boy Floyd popped a magnum of champagne for guests.

While she looked sensational in a tight black mini dress, the real star of Mariah's outfit was her glittering diamond choker.
The extravagant Van Cleef and Arpels diamond necklace, worth an eye-watering $500,000, was given to the star by her ex in 2015.

The 33.95-carat necklace, named the Olympia, is part of the jeweller's White Diamond High Jewellery collection.

Mariah joked about the necklace which James presented her with at the opening of his casino in Macau, during an appearance on the Steve Harvey show in November, 2015.

'Oh, this old thing?' she quipped before admitting: 'This is a Van Cleef [& Arpels] piece that my new beau got for me recently.'

'This was a very, very big surprise... Really nice. I wore it that night... he was opening a casino.'

Life & Style claimed last month that Australian billionaire James Packer wants Mariah to give back the $12.7 million (USD $10 million) 35 carat engagement ring he proposed to her with.

Despite their romance ending in October 2016, Mariah has continued to wear her engagement ring from James while spending time with her new beau Bryan.

'He's told pals he wants his ring back,' an insider told Life & Style, 'and he's going to have his team reach out to her to ask for it.' However, a source close to James have confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the claims are untrue.

Mariah and Bryan have been practically inseparable since she split from her billionaire fiance James last October.

Mariah initially met the handsome back-up dancer when she employed him on her 40-date, $27.9 million grossing Adventures of Mimi Tour back in 2006.
