Boko Haram: NSCDC Boss, Abdullai Gana Arrives Maiduguri In Response To FG Order
The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence
Corps, Abdullai Gana, has arrived Maiduguri in response to the
directives by President Muhammadu Buhari to relocate to the North East.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman
Dambazau, had directed the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris;
and the Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence
Corps, Abdullahi Muhammadu, to relocate to the North East.
We had earlier reported the meeting of the Service Chiefs in Maiduguri.
The NSCDC boss was directed to relocate to the northeast to ensure
deployment of personnel to all schools in liberated areas in the states.
Operatives of NSCDC are expected to liaise with the military and
governments of Yobe, Borno and Adamawa to provide adequate security
The Presidency said the directive became necessary to prevent the
re-occurrence of the attack and abduction of Dapchi schoolgirls by Boko
Haram.
Gana was received on Saturday by the Commander of the Army’s
Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Rogers Nicholas at the headquarters
of Military Command and Control Centre, Maiduguri.
