1. Wife of Katsina lawmaker and member representing Ingawa Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman Tunas has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen. The victim identified as Mabaruka, is the lawmaker’s junior wife and was kidnapped at their residence in Ingawa Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the armed gunmen have demanded a ransom of N100 million to secure her release.

2. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Saturday hinted that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu may have been killed by soldiers who invaded his residence in Umuahia, Abia state in September. IPOB anchored its claim on the fact that there was gunshot evidence all over Kanu’s room the day soldiers invaded his residence.

3. Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said that he will formally declare his 2019 presidential ambition on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform in two weeks. Atiku said on Saturday that the event will take place in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

4. President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has defended his principal’s decision to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s daughter, Hajiya Fatima and her groom, Idris Ajimobi on Saturday. Onochie was responding to the many criticisms of the president on social media. She said that the president was an adult and has the freedom to decide where he goes.

5. The All Progressives Congress, APC, in the United Kingdom has said that reconciling aggrieved members of the party was crucial to its success in the 2019 general elections.

The UK APC also applauded President Muhammadu for appointing a national leader of party, Bola Tinubu as Chairman, Reconciliation Committee.

6. A federal lawmaker representing Remo constituency of Ogun State in the House of Representatives, Oladipupo Adebutu, on Saturday, charged President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to wave the magic wand it claimed to possess and rescue the abducted Dapchi school girls. This is even as he slammed the Buhari administration for not doing enough in providing security for lives and property across the federation.

7. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the murder of several persons, including international aid workers, by insurgents in Rann, Borno State on Thursday.

The party charged the United Nations (UN) and the International Community to hold the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government directly accountable for the deaths.

8. The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership has condemned the purported expulsion of Kogi chapter executive members. According to Bolaji Abdullahi, the sack of its Kogi officials is null and void, saying that neither state nor zonal executives, constituted in whatever name or form can expel anyone from the party.

9. Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has said that he is not aware of the allegation of double registration levelled against him by the Independent National Electoral Commission. He spoke through the state’s Director-General, Publicity and Media Strategy, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo.

10. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized the passport of a former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah, after grilling her for several hours on Wednesday. Report says the commission has built a very strong case against the ex-minister.
