Who Say Army Can't Take Over Power In Nigeria? Ekweremadu

BREAKING NEWS
Who Say Army Can't Take Over Power In Nigeria? Ekweremadu
Chief Ike Ekeweremadu, deputy Senate President on Wednesday said the possibility of the military taking over power in Nigeria cannot be totally ruled out.
Contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by Ahmed Ogembe, senator representing Kogi central during plenary, Ekweremadu said Nigeria’s democracy was receding.
In his motion, Ogembe had alleged that Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello sponsored thugs to disrupt an empowerment programme he organised for members of his constituents.
Reacting, Ekweremadu said such incident indicated that efforts must be made to protect Nigeria’s democracy.
He also warned Bello that “the road he is travelling will not lead him anywhere”.
According to the deputy senate President, “You will recall that sometime last year when they wanted to recall Dino I advised the governor that they are wasting the resources of that state, that it is mission impossible.
“They took three pages in the newspaper abusing me. Are we still hearing the recall today? Money has been wasted. Money that has been used to pay salaries of people in Kogi state was used to mobilise people to recall senator Dino yet those people have not been paid and Dino is still here.
“So today I am advising the governor again, that road he is travelling will not lead him to anywhere. Ultimately, these people he is seeing here will be back here and he will leave office.
“If he doesn’t stop, there is no how he will come back in 2019, never, no he will not. God will show him that he is a God of justice and this is a message to all those people who have caused all kinds of problem in Nigeria at different level. The problem in Nigeria is that our democracy is receding. Who says army cannot take over, let us not joke with our democracy that is the issue.
“The house of a senator was destroyed in Kaduna state, we are talking about Kwankwaso who was stopped from going to his state where he ruled for eight years. In Kaduna, Shehu Sani cannot organise a meeting and we are about a democracy? The international community needs to know this because they helped us install democracy.”

2019 Election: Ex-Military Officers Coming Together To Deal With Buhari - Mohammed Abdulrahman

A National Executive Committee, NEC, member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, has disclosed that some ex-military officers and politicians are reforming the defunct Social Democratic Party, SDP, into an organized and effective political force ahead of the 2019 elections to deal with President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Mohammed, President Buhari has become bereft ideas on how to move nation forward and was being afflicted by the poverty of political wisdom.
Mohammed told Sun that three Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwarts have already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SDP.
He further disclosed that all the retired soldiers in Nigeria were the people backing the SDP.
He said, “They are getting ready. If 2019 proves to be a herdsman issue and a Buhari power confrontation… all the former soldiers will set up a group that will deal with Buhari and every other person in Nigeria that is creating problem. So, they should not just look at SDP simply.
“I think Buhari may have the honour to be president of Nigeria, but I think he is very bereft of political wisdom, a man lacking, very lacking…the poverty of political wisdom is afflicting him.
“He is suffering from the poverty of political wisdom. That is the simplest I can put it and I think Nigerians will understand this.”

2019 Election: Nwosu Speaks On His Guber Ambition, Says Okorocha Will Not Dictate For Me

2019 Election: Nwosu Speaks On His Guber Ambition, Says Okorocha Will Not Dictate For Me

Uche Nwosu, son-in-law and Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that the Governor will not dictate for him if he eventually succeeds him.
Nwosu, who opened up on his governorship aspiration in an interview with Punch, said his father- in-law would not dictate his actions if he becomes governor.
Okorocha’s endorsement of Nwosu had sparked uproar in the state.
He said, “This is another tool of blackmail employed by mischievous politicians who have been dislodged in the state. Some people are saying they do not want me to be governor because I am Okorocha’s son-in-law.
“They claimed that if I become governor, Governor Okorocha would manipulate me and tell me what to do . If tomorrow they say Uche Nwosu is the governor, Okorocha will not say , ‘let me give him a list ’ like other people do.”
He said instead of criticising his ambition, other governorship aspirants in the state should discuss their plans and programmes for the people of the state.
He added, “Yes, I am a son-in-law to Rochas Okorocha and I am very much proud to be his son-in-law.
“In most of the countries of the world, let me just start with (United States ) President Donald Trump; his son – in-law is an adviser and America never went up in flame.
“George Bush was the President of the United States and after his tenure, his son became President and America never went haywire.
“Governor Okorocha will not impose somebody on the people.
“Naturally, the time will come when the people will choose who they want to govern them.”

Egbemudia's Son Speaks On His Father's Death, Says He Dug His Grave, Shared His Property Before His Death

BREAKING NEWS

Egbemudia's Son Speaks On His Father's Death, Says He Dug His Grave, Shared His Property Before His Death

Egbemudia Jr., son of two-time former governor of old Bendel State, Samuel Egbemudia, has revealed how his father dug his grave before his death.
Egbemudia said his father, who died a year ago, also directed that he should be buried within seven days of his death and should not be taken to the mortuary.
Speaking with Vanguard, he also disclosed that his father shared his property among his family members before dying.
According to him, “Daddy dug his own grave and directed us before he died that he must be buried within seven days and his body must not be taken to the mortuary.
“He shared all his property to his children which some of them disagreed with and this wanted to cause some crisis within the family but the matter was sorted out.
“It was more or less like a distraction but everybody is moving on now. I can tell you that what I learnt from him has been keeping this family together.
“First and foremost, one thing I learnt from him was patience. When he was alive, people said a lot of negative things about him. He always told me let them come and say it to me directly. Similarly, I hear a lot of negative things about my person, but rarely do they say it to my face. He left all of us with assets and having taught us economic management, we are all trying to cope and not to be distracted.
“I tell my younger ones, respect begets respect. I respect everybody and also expect respect from others. I like being open and I tell them to be open to me too. One thing I believe in life is that if a man is rich and the people around him are poor, then that person is poor. That is why I try as much as possible to make people around me happy, just like my father.
“I am not a greedy person but I am okay. Like my father would always say, poverty is the worst form of violence that you can see from anybody. When somebody is poor and cannot pay medical bills, cannot feed, it is hell.
“Poverty is hell and it is a killer and as far as I am concerned, if I have N10 and my neighbour doesn’t have at all, I am ready to give out N5. That was what I learnt from my father. He hated seeing people suffer.”

In the statement, the politician also welcomed the new wife on board, who will now be assisting her in taking care of their husband.

'Let me take this opportunity to congratulate my husband @vanmohamed for marrying a second wife. Because my Islamic religious practice allows such an arrangement. I advised him to marry another woman. My decision to get a co-wife was triggered by the nature of my job, which forces me to travel away from home often, consequently depriving my husband of basic needs in a marriage.
'I thank him for understanding me and heeding to my request. I am glad to welcome on board @only_chibeb as a co-wife, who will help me in a big way to look after our husband, a responsibility which is very demanding.'
I receive @only_chibeb with both arms, and I pray God ensures peace reigns in our union so that we can live happily forever and ever,' Ms. Abdalla posted via her Instagram page on Wednesday.
