Heartbreaking! Nigerian man insists pregnant wife must deliver at home, locks her up and watches her bleed to death in Ebonyi(Video)
The police in Ebonyi state have arrested one Samuel Chidi, who resides at Diamond Point Junction, Chinedu Ogah Avenue Abakaliki,  for allegedly watching his wife, Nkechi, bleed to death in their home after refusing to take her to the hospital to give birth to their 3rd baby.

According to resident of the compound where the couple stayed, Chidi had previously watched his wife deliver twice through Caesarean section. With this 3rd pregnancy, he decided that she must not go through the pain of Caeseran section again and so he contracted a patent medicine dealer who came to their home to deliver his wife of their baby. The patent doctor administered improper injections on her, dragged out the baby to the ground while the husband pinned her legs down, collected the blood, the baby's placenta and hid in his room while leaving the agonizing mother to bleed to death.

His evil deed came to the open when a Nurse who lives in the same compound with him, asked to see his pregnant wife. The nurse entered their home and asked about the deceased. Chidi then openned up to her that she had died and that her corpse was in his room. The Nurse raised alarm and immediately asked that the remains of the deceased be taken to the mortuary while the baby be rushed to the hospital for proper medical attention.

The family of the deceased was contacted soon after and dismayed by the negligent conduct of the man who had sworn to love, cherish and protect their daughter till death do them part, withdrew the body and proceeded to dump it in the man's compound for him to do with it as he had presumably purposed.

The timely intervention of the police saved Chidi from being lynched by his angry neighbors. He is currently cooling off his heels in the police station.

Ebonyi State SSG, Benard Odoh Resigns, Accuses Gov. Umahi Of Oppression

BREAKING NEWS
Ebonyi State SSG, Benard Odoh Resigns, Accuses Gov. Umahi Of Oppression
The Secretary to the Ebonyi State government, SSG, Professor Benard Odoh has resigned from office.
He stated that his resignation followed nasty decisions taken by the governor, David Umahi that turned most of the cabinet members to become hypocritical in their activities.
Odoh made this known in a 3-page resignation letter written to the governor, signed and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.
He said he could not continue to work with a government that did not offer a conducive atmosphere for all members of the cabinet to air their views.
The letter reads in part: “in my opinion, this is the highest level of hypocrisy and the values I live does not allow me to operate in such deceptive atmosphere where people live opposite of what/who they are”.
Recall that Odah was the senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, for Ebonyi Central in 2015 General election.
Before his appointment as the SSG by governor David Umahi in 2015, he was known for his integrity, loyalty, popularity, honesty and trustworthiness.
The ex-state scribe noted further that his decision to resign was to protect his relationship with the governor, stressing that he had more to preserve than occupy the position of the secretary to state government.
He said that the way Umahi’s administration had remained in the past two years had not offered conducive atmosphere for all members of the state executive council members and himself to sincerely air and express their views on sensitive policy matters.
“Having assured you on my inception of office and at several times that I owe you the responsibility to be truthful and honest always, I wish to inform you that all is not well in your administration sir.
“If you observe carefully, almost all your appointees are nearly completely disconnected from your policy direction as they lack genuine sense of purpose, dignity, clear sense of commitment to decision taken in Council because of low morale.
“Once more, on behalf of my family, friends and those who worked closely with me for almost three years now, I want to most sincerely again say thank you very much for the rare opportunity you offered me to serve our dear state,” he wrote.
Prof Odoh also said he was ready to face whatever consequence and persecution that may follow his resignation.
“I am fully aware of the consequences of my action knowing fully well that you will go after me, my immediate family and those that served with me in line with your principle of “crushing and grinding” whoever that differs with your ideologies and aspirations as has been demonstrated in recent times, but be assured that the will of God would always prevail in all situation and circumstance.
‘”My appointment as the Secretary to the State government is hereby resigned in good faith. I have handed over the status of cabinet office to the most senior staff office, Barrister Ogbonnaya Otta in line with the best practices of service”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the governor has announced the appointment of Dr. Hyginus Nwokwu as the new SSG, with immediate effect.

NAIJA VOICE learnt that the crisis started on 7th March, 2018 which resulted to the killing of at least 3 persons, including Nwoseuzor who was a youth leader of Inyimagu.

“The killing of Inyimagu person first, sparked up the crisis. Why did Inyamagu people invade akpaomaka village and sacked them and took away their farm lands?” He queried.
Umahi further charged the commissioner of Police, Mr. Titus Lamorde to use maximum force and arrest all his political appointees who were alleged to have hands in the crisis.
“Commissioner, I want you to use maximum force and arrest any political appointee who may have hands in this crisis.
“If this crisis happens again, I will call the inspector general of police to come here and arrest whoever that is involved and take them to Abuja. I will tag it a treasonable offence,” he vowed.
The governor also threatened to sack the coordinator of Ikwo east development centre, Mr. Eso Udogu who was accused of sponsoring the burning of the houses and killing of people at Akpaomaka community.
Earlier in a remark, the chairman of Ikwo Local government area, Mr. John Nnabo said “no single house is left at akpaomaka community. I alerted the deputy governor Barr. Kelechi Igwe that what I saw is so bad and I don’t know what may happen in the next hour.
“Some people were burnt inside their house. I don’t know why our people see themselves as enemies. Your Excellency, we ask you to please do something to help us so that peace will return to the two communities,” he said.

Fear In Ebonyi State As Herdsmen Massacre Farmers In Akaeze

BREAKING NEWS

Fear In Ebonyi State As Herdsmen Massacre Farmers In Akaeze

No fewer than four persons were critically battered on Tuesday in Akaeze community, Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State following a clash between herdsmen and farmers.

It is reported that 3 herdsmen were left with head injuries, while one of the farmers received machete cuts on various parts of his body.
Investigation revealed that the farmer is receiving treatment at the Emergency Ward of Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (FETHA) while the injured herdsmen were receiving treatment at a hospital in Awgu, Enugu state.

It was equally gathered that the residents of the community have fled for fear of reprisal attacks from the herdsmen.

Reports revealed that herdsmen from Mpu, Enugu State invaded farmlands in Akaeze and destroyed crops, which angered one of the farmers who was attacked with machete when he confronted them.
However, the development forced Governor David Umahi to ban grazing in the local government area until investigation into the matter was concluded.
In order to bring normalcy to the area, Umahi, directed the security chiefs in the state to set-up 10-man committee to investigate the cause of the crisis.

He said: “This issue is becoming complicated. I want the CP (commissioner of police), the Army and the DSS to set up a committee.

“It should be a 10-man committee to investigate the matter and we will convene another emergency security meeting on the matter.

“The investigation should commence immediately. But I am banning any herdsman from entering into Ivo local government until this investigation is completed and I want the security men to carry out my instruction.
“No herdsman should enter the place, no cattle should enter Ivo local government again until investigation is completed.

“I want the security chiefs to note it down that any herdsman that is coming into Ebonyi must follow the procedure and must not ‘carry’ animals late into Ebonyi state. You bring animals via vehicles and there is no cattle routes in Ebonyi state”, he said.
