EPL: What Ashley Young Told Teammates In Dressing Room At Halftime Before 3-2 Win Over Man. City
Manchester United defender, Ashley Young, played a vital role in his
team’s 3-2 win against Manchester City on Saturday.
The player engaged his team-mates in a rousing half-time speech before
the Red Devils mounted an incredible comeback to delay Man City’s Premier
League title party.
Young inspired up his teammates after a woeful first-half performance saw
City take a two-goal lead.
United improved drastically after the break with Paul Pogba scoring twice
in the space of two minutes to cancel out City’s 2-0 lead
Chris Smalling’s volley 15 minutes later completed a turnaround and gave
United 3-2 win over their city rivals.
The Times, UK, reports that Young reminded his team-mates of their duty
to the club and the fans in the dressing room
He told them, “The City fans are shouting ‘OlĂ©’ and they’re embarrassing
us. Are we going to stand for that?
“Remember your responsibilities to the fans and the badge. Show some
pride and fight for each other.”
