Esther Chizaram Ngele: GLORY: The Return of African Destiny [Poem]

Africa

Let the ogene sound, and beat the gong aloud

Our future has arrived!

Let the dancers stomp in victory;

We are the conquerors

Nmamanu ooo!

We are the children of Afrik

The chosen ones

Let our skin reflect our rich heritage

we shook hands with the devil and he mastered us

we washed our hands with blood now we are brand new

we have been avenged!

Oh the peace I feel when he wraps his arms around me

The fluttering of wings in my defense,

Glory

Normally we would cry and beg we our Chi to intervene

but these days we can’t control how they respond.

They came for us, broke our cord, and had us baptized.

They destroyed our roots, marinated us in confusion

Magnified the difference in appearance;

We mirrored their reflection

Ever since we conquered the fear of death, we’re on a glorious journey.

Hopefully we make it on time to the throne.

The one who engineered it all.

My catastrophes his perfect planning.

He drew this landscape on my body.

I’m ever naked before him.

Thorns have been molded into a crown for me.

I’m living in the Glory

Religion didn’t bring me this far, love did.

I’m sure my membership card is torn already.

How brilliant are the sermon of truth? Bless you.

Oh the glory that shields us, Amen.

There is no comparison to this feeling.

I too flee when the holy water come upon me

With each birth mark comes a revelation

My African hips and thick thighs a glory to behold.

Kings are waiting for a glimpse.

The thunder won’t break until I speak

The je ne sais quoi radiation. Amen.

They children we birth and they ones we nursed

Scattered across the world

I feel nothing but joy

My restless spirit finally at peace

Who knew we would see this day

And call it yesterday by tomorrow

Oh the wax easily come off

But I’m still molding life

With nothing but joy and gladness

My love is pure; he has returned

Only to fetch for more

I’m African, ever green, ever strong

Living the truth and accepting redemption

Glowing in glory with no regret

Esther Chizaram Ngele: Life [Poem]

LIFE

Life the Ebenezer of all human,

The ultimate; without which I am considered dead

The beautifier; the teacher

I must be on her good side

The good life, the holy grail.

Oh the things I took for granted;

Now I must pay for.

How old I get to be considered unfortunate.

Forbes cannot look my way, I’m way past the glory

I mourn depression in silence, so that I fit into the good life.

“Be grateful for life” says the sermon,

How time fly’s, but how fast we burn out

We begin with high hopes, from high expectations.

The end, the misery, the regret

“It’s no big deal, figure it out” life.

And if we are Lucky, the loved ones on our bed side…

We thrive, until we strive

We knock on every door

Like we are running out of breath, the doors slammed to our faces

‘Not good enough’ so we don’t win an award

But when they smile at us,

We must worship.

In obeisance to their every bidding until we hear it again;

‘Not good enough’

Swinging back and forth on a pendulum,

I tick away

Life oh life

The ones we create, the ones they made,

They ones we lost, they ones that lost

We were here

It is what it is

Legality we were taught, believe in the religion.

We are not too young to die

“Just fit in” it is the title.

But I say, it is on your terms

Live for you

You’re the cost!

We’re the good life

Not sexuality and certainly not doctrine!

We are here, lets live before we die.

We are grateful but we want more

The fulfilment may never come,

But still I breathe.

The good life.

Video of sex in a moving UN official car gone viral [WATCH 18+]

sex
ISRAEL – The United Nations (UN) says it has launched investigation into a viral video showing a couple apparently having sex in one of its official cars in Israel.
Spokesman of the Secretary-General, Mr Stephane Dujarric, told UN correspondents in New York on Friday that the organisation was “shocked and deeply disturbed” by the footage.
Dujarric confirmed that the video featured a 4×4 vehicle, containing personnel “likely assigned to the UN Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO)”.
The short video shows a woman in a red dress straddling a man in the back seat of the white SUV bearing the “UN” inscription.

With them in the moving vehicle are the driver and a bald-head man sitting on the passenger side in front.
Media reports say the footage was recorded on HaYarkon Street, a major thoroughfare in Tel Aviv, the Israeli capital, although the UN said its authenticity had not been confirmed.
Dujarric said: “We are shocked and deeply disturbed by what is seen on the video.
“The behaviour seen in it is abhorrent and goes against everything that we stand for and have been working to achieve in terms of fighting misconduct by UN staff.
“We became aware of the video a little bit more than two days ago and our colleagues in the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) were immediately activated.
“Their investigation I know is moving very quickly. We know the location of the incident and the identification of individuals in the video, who are likely assigned to the UNTSO, is close to being completed.
“As part of the UN’s commitment to transparency, the UN will provide updates on the conclusion of the investigation, and any further action.”
According to the organisation, UNTSO, headquartered in Jerusalem, is the first ever peacekeeping mission established by the UN in 1948.
It says the mission comprises military observers to monitor ceasefires, supervise armistice agreements and prevent military escalation.
In a statement, UNTSO said it was committed to the UN’s zero-tolerance policy against any kind of misconduct, including sexual exploitation and abuse.
It reminded its personnel of their obligations to the UN Code of Conduct.
The BBC quoted Ms Heather Barr, Co-director of the women’s rights division of Human Rights Watch’s, as saying the video did not come to her as a surprise.
Barr, who according to the news outlet had worked for the UN in Burundi and Afghanistan, said the UN had a bigger problem than the video.
“That problem is about allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse committed by staff members of the UN,’’ she told the medium.
NAN recalls that the UN received and investigated 175 allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse against its staff in 2019.
Out of the total, 16 were substantiated, 15 were unsubstantiated and all others were still being investigated.

BREAKING: Liverpool crowned Premier League champions after 30-year wait

Liverpool
ENGLAND – Liverpool have ended their 30-year wait for a top-flight title after being crowned Premier League champions following Manchester City’s 2-1 loss at Chelsea on Thursday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side defeated Crystal Palace 4-0 on Wednesday evening to leave them needing just two points from their remaining seven games to win the title. But with second-placed Manchester City now 23 points behind with seven matches remaining after Thursday’s result at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool have an unassailable lead at the top of the standings.
The triumph brings to an end a 30-year drought as Klopp’s class of 2020 ended their wait for a top-flight title which stretched back to 1990 when Kenny Dalglish’s side won the old Football League championship. This season’s feat means Liverpool now have 19 titles to their name, one behind Manchester United who sit on 20.
