Nigerians attack Nollywood actor, Okon’s over a comment on Abuja police rape [VIDEO]

 

Popular Nigerian actor and comedian, Ime Bishop Umoh, often called Okon Lagos, has been put under heavy attacks by social media users.

Okon who is popularly known for his comic character in movies took to his Instagram page on Saturday morning to air his view on the Abuja police rape which has been in the news for some time now, stating that the police only stole the ladies’ ‘pride’ without payment and not rape as being alleged. He further established a difference between rape and stealing, while also referring to the ladies as commercial sex workers.

We had reported that Abuja policemen raped and convicted some Abuja prostitutes.

Some of the ladies, who were convicted by a mobile court for alleged prostitution had narrated how they were harassed, molested and assaulted by some men of the Nigeria Police in Abuja.

They also claimed that they were compelled to plead guilty when they were arraigned before the court by the police.

But Bishop in a video with the caption, ‘’ Both are criminal acts but different. Rape and theft there is a little of one in another’’ said the police only stole the ladies’ ‘products’ without paying.

However, a lot of his colleagues and Nigerians were not pleased with his post and have since chided him.
