Blogging Your Way To The Top

Kazeem Muideen
Blogging is a novel way of life on the Internet. And it has come to stay for good. The words ‘blog’ and ‘blogging’ have become household names on the world wide web within the few years of its inception. It is simply because of its efficiency and vibrancy over the traditional websites some of us grew up with.
All over the globe, celebrities, famous individuals, businessmen, small-medium-scale firms saand multinationals have turned to the idea and ideals of blog as a means and tool for broadcasting and holding forth to their fans and customers/clients alike concerning anything new that need to be known.
Blogging has been another major revenue generation phase of the Internet. It is a money spinner for any partaker of its activities; either as an organisation, which uses blog to drive and make sales, or as a blog service provider who renders blog services to the business community that is abreast of the efficacy  and amazing power of blog as an inevitable business growth mechanism.
So, which of the divides do you belong? Is it as an organisation which uses blog as a business growth mechanism or as a blog service provider who provides services for the business society? Whichever you belong, I bet you are on a roller-coaster to the bank — heads or tails, you are a winner with blogging.
Nigeria has, no doubt, joined the bandwagon, as more and more people have begun to come to terms with the trend. Though we still need to continue to preach and spread the ‘gospel’ of blog and blogging until it measures up with what is obtainable in other climes. While it will be a fortune for the business organisation on the one hand, it will also be a panacea to unemployment for our youths.
Since inception some years back, blogging has caught up and outpaced the regular websites; not for any other reason than its instantaneous feedback, touch and feelings, questions and answers and above all, humane and personal sense which are part of the charismatic quality behind the idea of blog.
As against the regular website which sits static on the web begging for tickle and touch, blog has come to remedy and bring to us what regular website has failed to achieve over the years.
For instance, if you want to reach out to your customer/client/fans with the latest product, service, event, information, or new development, it is like keeping your pocket diary up-to-date about things you have in the past, things to be done or things you are planning to do. Instead of filling up your pocket diary with activities in the past, present and future event, you then put them on a blog which makes it available, all over the internet and, indeed, the world, which the diary sitting in your pocket cannot and will never achieve. That is the power of blogging.
The instances above  are the areas a regular website is found lacking. So, with blog, you can create a relationship momentum with your client, maintain and sustain it through regular blogging.
As earlier mentioned, businessmen, organisations, small and medium scale business and multinationals  can leverage on the amazing power of blog to educate, update, spark up and maintain a good relationship with their consumer/customer/client base and the end result drives sales and more sales for your product and services as far as you want.
A blog service provider is fundamentally anybody that is trained or experienced in the art of creating an efficient, vibrant and functional blog for his client; this time, the businessmen, famous individuals, celebrities, small, medium, multinationals, charity project, fund raising and any project for that matter that requires publicity.
Imagine the amount of money you can generate by driving sales to your business through blogging without paying through the nose for advertisement or as blog service provider who earns income by providing blog service to businessmen, organisations etc; this is another means of employment generation and an avenue for work-at-home persons.
Despite some followers of blogs in Nigeria, people have not realised the fact that as you can grow your business by blogging, create employment by providing blog services, it is highly imperative to create a department for this phase (blog), or outsource the responsibility to an agency for and on behalf of your organisation. The long run is that more employment will be generated.
To this end, blogging can be part of the rescue measure for both the nose-diving economy as well as the unemployment situation. This is achievable if we can leverage on the amazing power of blogging.
Unemployment and underemployed persons can be profitably engaged and gainfully employed respectively by arming themselves with the knowledge of blogging, which is not a hard nut to crack for anybody that wants to get out of the unemployment and underemployment dungeon.
