Eight
members of a family of twelve were on Friday killed in a car accident
in Saudi Arabia, according to an online Saudi news website.
The twelve members of the family were reported to be travelling in a white four wheel vehicle carrying a UAE licence plate headed towards Abha, a tourism area. Driven by the father of 10 children, all of whom were in the vehicle, the crash occured only a few kilometres away from the family’s destination.
The
mother, father and six of their children died while the remaining four
children suffered moderate to severe injuries. All members were
transported to Al Aflaaj General Hospital where the injured were taken
to the Intensive Care Unit. The Taef-Abha road where the accident took
place, reportedly contains a scarce amount of signposts and several
rockey valleys down which the vehicle is believed to have fallen.
The family who was said to be based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, UAE was holidaying in Saudi Arabia when the tragic incident happened.
