Manchester United manager,David Moyes have revealed that they have made a second bid for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Premiership Champions are keen on signing the player, having
made a £25m bid for the 26-year old which was turned down by the Spanish
champions,with former coach,Tito Vilanova,stating last week before
stepping down, that Fabregas wants to remain at Barcelona.
Manchester United today increased their offer for the player to
£30m plus other add-ons, with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed
Woodward deep into negotiations for the player.
“As I understand it, Ed had a response (to the first bid)” said Moyes at a press conference in Yokohama,Japan on Monday.
“We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me.”
“When you’re interested in good players you want to give it every
opportunity to materialise and I’ll do that. I hope things can continue
and move forward,” Moyes added.
“At this moment in time I can only tell you that Ed is working hard
trying to make the deals happen. We can only hope that some of them
fall into place shortly.”
“But I might have a little bit more information in the next day or
so on how it [the potential Fabregas deal] is going,” Moyes said.
There are also reports that Manchester United are close to
finalizing a deal for,Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay,to bolster their
defence.
Do you see the deal for Fabregas happening?
