One of the largest dating conglomerates in the world is in hot water for allegedly posting the HIV and STD statuses of its customers on its affiliate dating sites without their knowledge.
A class action suit against Successful Match alleges that the conglomerate broke the law and its promises of confidentiality to customers on PositiveSingles.com by sharing their HIV and STD statuses on "thousands" of spinoff sites, including HIVGayMen.com, STDHookup.com and Blackpoz.com.

The two female plaintiffs say when they joined Positive Singles, the site promised them "fully anonymous profiles" in a service that would connect them with other singles with the same status.
"What it does not do, however, is disclose that there are upwards of a thousand other websites that link to PositiveSingles.com" – and all use the same database of profiles, the women say in the suit. Today, Positive Singles has a disclaimer about its network of affiliated sites. It is unclear when that disclaimer was posted.

The women are seeking an injunction against Successful Match's current business plan as well as damages.
Meanwhile Christianmingle.com, a dating website for Christian singles, is also embroiled in a class action suit, for not offering its dating services to same-sex couples. Courthouse News Service reports that Christian Mingle is being sued for a violation of human rights law in California, where same-sex marriage is legal.
Neither dating service could be reached for comment.
