J. Cole’s sophomore album, ‘Born Sinner,’ has officially jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, selling more copies than Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’.

It is pretty rare for an album to climb to the top the way J. Cole’s has. In its first week, the set faced stark competition against Kanye’s album, which debuted at No. 1 with 327,000 copies sold. Cole sold 297,000 units, falling short of the top shot.
In its second week, the North Carolina native had to face competitor Wale, whose third LP, ‘The Gifted’ earned a top Billboard spot, forcing Cole out of the limelight once again.
The underdog refused to go out without a fight though. Today’s sales figures put J. Cole at the top of the game with ‘Born Sinner’ selling 439,117 copies, beating out West’s total ‘Yeezus’ sales of 431,000.
Congrats, J.Cole!
